Northwood Temple would get out to an early lead and take it into halftime of 46-27 but United Faith would come back and cut the lead all the way down to one point. However Northwood Temple would hold on and win the game 78-74 earning a bid to the Semi-Finals next weekend to take on The Burlington School.
Northwood Temple 2018 PF/C Manny Bates: Manny continues to improve each time I get to see him play, on this game in particular he threw down three dunks in traffic and blocked a very high amount of shots. Offensively he still becoming comfortable but you can see more smoothness coming from him with certain moves he makes, he finished with 10 points.
Northwood Temple 2020 F Travon Jackson: You have to love how much heart and energy that this young man plays the game of basketball with, he leaves everything he has on the floor and will only get better as time goes on. He is a very athletic player and uses that athletic ability not only on offense but also defensively when coming up with steals and blocks, he finished with 18 Points and 10 Rebounds.
United Faith Christian 2018 Guard Rafael Jenkins: Rafael is the real deal! When United Faith needed scoring, defense, steals, etc. He provided it, he plays the game with a chip on his shoulder and doesn’t back down from any challenge. When you combine his silky smooth handle with the ability to finish around bigs and his ability to knock down the trey ball, you have a player that colleges at the D1 level should definitely be on.
United Faith Christian 2017 Guard Jalen Knight: Every young team needs a senior leader and that’s exactly what Jalen Knight brought to the table for his team, he’s a low turnover player that understands how to pick his spots. On the defensive end he brings constant effort and intensity, he’s already signed with Hartford and will be a very good asset to their squad in the upcoming years.
United Faith Christian 2018 Forward KC Hankton: Although he didn’t have a big time scoring day you can see the talent of this young man and why he has D1 schools already offering. He can play inside but also has the ability of stepping out and knocking down shots, definitely one to keep a close eye on.
Northwood Temple 2019 Guard Audiese Toney: This young man filled up the stat sheet on Saturday night, he played just about every position for Northwood except for the Center position. He continues to improve with his decision making and rebounds the ball very well using his height and wingspan, he finished with 14 points, 15 rebounds, 7 assist.
Northwood Temple Unsigned Senior Guard Jeremiah Morris: This young man will make a college program very happy next season when he steps on campus, he’s small in stature but plays the game with huge heart. He’s a very quick guard that has nice athleticism and the ability to knock down shots from mid and deep, he finished with 17 points on the night.
Northwood Temple 2017 Guard Michael Hueitt Jr: Mike started the game in foul trouble and didn’t have his three point shot dropping like usual but he still found ways to impact the game. In the 4th quarter he stepped up big on the defensive end drawing charges and making plays for other offensively out of pick and roll situations.
United Faith Christian 2019 Wing Sam Wolfe: Sam didn’t have his best showing but you can clearly see the potential that he has. At 6’7 with the ability to shoot the ball from deep he is a player that college will be keeping a close eye on in the upcoming years.
