“I consider myself the ultimate point guard,” Wilkerson said. “I have a great balance in scoring and setting my teammates up for buckets and I take a lot of pride in being a lockdown defender. I’ve developed into a ‘lights-out’ shooter – I’m shooting 59 percent from three (point range) this season.”
Wilkerson says he and his Tigers’ club have gotten off to a good start to the season.
“The season has been good so far,” Wilkerson stated. “We play a tough schedule but have a winning record. I’ve had some big games of 30+ points and 10+ assists. I honestly believe I’m ‘unguardable’ in high school right now.”
In the classroom at the high school, Wilkerson says he is a hard worker.
“I take a lot of pride in the classroom,” the student-athlete noted. “(My) GPA (is a) 3.8, (my) ACT (is a) 26.”
The versatile guard currently holds a college offer from Denver and says he has been shown interest from multiple programs in Wright State, Loyola, Samford, Northern Kentucky, Evansville, Southern Illinois and Austin Peay and that more coaches should start to reach out because he always gives his all.
“I am an athletic scoring point guard,” Wilkerson added when asked why coaches and programs should start to reach out. “I am always looking to make the right play, I get all my teammates involved and I play 100 percent every night on both ends of the floor.”
