The Nature Coast senior plays bigger than his 6’4″, 190-pound frame and gets up on rebounds and blocks.
He contributed plenty on offense when it mattered the most for the Sharks last week as they won the Bracket A final at their own Christmas Tournament.
Baxter called this season great so far. Nature Coast sits at 14-0 and 6-0 in Class 6A-District 7.
“I love the chemistry on our team and the brotherhood we have formed. I wouldn’t want to play for any other high school,” he said. “On and off the court we push each other and our goal is to make history this season.”
Here’s how he broke down his own game.
“I use my athletic abilities and then the rest will come in my shots, etc.,” Baxter said. “I’ve improved my all around game, rebounds, shooting and my basketball IQ.”
Baxter currently holds an offer from Division-III Baldwin Wallace. He also has drawn interest from Eckerd and Santa Fe, both Florida schools were in attendance at the Christmas tournament.
Also, Florida Elite has given Baxter an offer to play travel ball as an unsigned senior in the spring.
Baxter finds himself in good spots down low and makes the most of his role. As a key rebounder and guy who comes up with clutch blocks, he is someone who will make an impact at the next level whether that is at Division-II or III.
