The 6’5″, 180-pounder is one of 10 seniors on the Crusaders roster. At 13-5, Seffner Christian is having a nice season which includes a first place standing in Class 4A-District 4 with a 6-0 showing. Admiral Farragut, Calvary Christian, Tampa Prep and Cambridge Christian all bring tough competition just a couple games back of the top spot in the district.
Grasse admitted that his season has started slow for him but his team finds a way to win.
“We grind it out,” he said. “As of lately, I found my rhythm and I’m averaging around 10 points and 7.0 rebounds per game.”
The senior is aiming to get better at finding his way to the rim off the dribble and beat his man with a quick move. Grasse says that he’s seen his rebounding and overall strength with the ball in his hand in transition improve.
He has no offers yet, but a couple of schools are showing interest in him including Division-II Bob Jones and Division-III Oglethorpe, Illinois Wesleyan and Transylvania.
Grasse says he believes that he can fit in with any system at the next level with his shot and ability to handle the ball.
I first saw Grasse this past summer on the AAU circuit with the Tampa Titans. His craftiness is very evident. I watched him play twice this season with Seffner Christian including last Thursday night in a win over Brooks DeBartolo. Grasse scored 11 points on Senior Night and his basketball IQ should land him a spot with a Division-II or Division-III school next fall.
