The 6’5″, 185-pound junior is averaging a team-high 12.1 points and 7.1 rebounds per game for the Chargers (3-17) in Class 4A.
After losing 18 games over the last two seasons, Shorecrest Prep is in a transition period with first-year head coach Michael Touma. Seven players from last year’s roster are gone and so is longtime head coach Daryl Blume.
St. Cin admitted that this season is a rebuilding one. Here’s what he wants to improve in his game.
“I’m the only returning varsity player from last year,” he said. “I’m looking to better my ball handling skills and increase my shooting percentage. I would also like to increase my agility and overall strength. My ability to drive to the lane to get layups and get to the line and also my pick and roll offense are what has gotten better for me this season.”
He has scored double digits in all but four games this season. He has four double doubles. I saw him score 13 points and grab 12 rebounds last week in a home loss to Berkeley Prep.
No offers have come yet, but St. Cin has drawn interest from Division-III Trinity College.
He says he would love to have the opportunity to take his game to the next level and compete in college.
“I’m best at cutting through the lane and overall being a team player,” St. Cin said. “I like to shoot, but I don’t like to be selfish. I feel I could fit in a team that needs a big body that can spread the floor and hit shots.”
When you watch St. Cin play, you notice two things right off the bat, this kid can shoot really well and he hustles on the boards. He’s lengthy and as long as he continues to get in the gym and the weight room, his value will go up two-fold. With another year left in high school, St. Cin will draw interest here soon.
