After appearing in 12 games as a sophomore, Marucci is in a starting role at East Bay (12-0). He’s averaging 6.4 points per game which includes seven double-digit performances. Marucci, who stands at roughly 6’2/6’3″ had a 15-point outing and an 11-point game against Class 8A-District 9 rival Strawberry Crest.
Marucci was the best thing for the Indians in a loss at Strawberry Crest last week. He attacked throughout for his offense. He had a team-high 11 points including five in the final quarter. Marucci flashed good awareness underneath the basket.
It’s hard not to like his contributions to East Bay this season. The Indians are 6-6 in district play and currently in fifth place, but with Marucci playing a key role it bodes well for his future. Next season, he should be more complete. Adding muscle to his frame will help his attacking abilities.
