The Benjamin sophomore is averaging 23.7 points and 7.8 rebounds per game this season for the Buccaneers (9-7). Lubarsky is now 6’5″ and 215 lbs. and has made massive strides off his 9.9 PPG average a year ago.
He opened this season with back-to-back 30 point performances. He has another 30 point game and six 20 point outings.
Lubarsky and the Bucs sit in second place behind Westminster in Class 4A-District 5 with a 3-2 record. Here is what he had to say about this season so far.
“This season has gone very well considering we are adapting to coach [Brandon] Arnette’s style, which is great,” he said. “Our record is not where we want it to be right now but we are looking to solidify the two seed in districts. Our goals are to make it to the district championship and compete with a tough Westminister team.
Lubarsky is aiming to get better at these couple of things this season.
“I’m looking to improve my right hand and my athleticism when finishing around the basket,” he said. “I have really improved my three point shooting, pull up jump shot and ball handling this season.”
He has no offers yet, but interest has come from UNF and Dartmouth. Both schools have come to see him play this season.
Lubarsky is filled with so much potential. Not only is he going to grow in height but he will in leadership and confidence. Right now, he’s playing at a high level in Class 4A and it is fun to watch. He’s a strong player from in or out of the paint.
