The 2021 guard has grown from 5-foot-4 gym rat to a viable high school scorer. Now standing 5-foot-9, Skipworth is able to keep defenders on his shoulders. The 165-frame is a work in progress, but he holds quality upper body strength now.
Entering middle school Skipworth was primarily a catch and shoot guy. The evolution of his game has kept this redeemable skill and added another.
He is more capable of evading defenders now. Speed with the ball is so critical for ball-handlers. Skipworth has continued to work on his handles and it shows during games.
Where once Anthony used to be reliant upon fellow guards to get open looks, he can now walk in to his three-point shot. Certainly at the middle school level he can get into the paint.
Skipworth competes for both the middle school and varsity teams at Oak Ridge Christian. With the middle school team, he scored 42 points and 45 points in successive games.
Starting for the varsity team too, Skipworth is scoring 11.5 ppg.
