Kentucky’s Mid-Season Report: Top Scorers (Per Game)
It’s a new year! Happy New Year from Prep Hoops Kentucky. As a gift, we are throwing out a list of the state’s current leading scorers.
1.) Timmy Dalton (2017, Lawrence County) 37.9 ppg
Not only is Timmy Dalton leading the Bluegrass State in scoring points per game, he is leading the entire country. The Salem International (NCAA D-II) commit has scored 528 total points on the season and has helped lead Lawrence County to a 9-5 start. Dalton was an honorable mention all-state performer last year. It’s safe to say those accolades will heighten in 2017.
2.) Dontaie Allen (2019, Pendleton County) 31.6 ppg
Currently ranked as Prep Hoop Kentucky’s top ranked 2019 prospect, Dontaie Allen is living up to the billet. With 51, 50, and 43 point performances already, Allen is giving a small town team big-time hope. The Wildcats are 7-6. Allen is also averaging 12 rebounds per game and has received interest from Kentucky, Tennessee, Louisville, Xavier, Creighton, and Northern Kentucky.
3.) Peyton Gover (2017, Pulaski Southwestern) 30.7 ppg
Forget his size, Peyton Gover is taking over games and that’s all that matters. Along with his 30.7 ppg he’s averaging 6 assists with 43, 39, and 38 point performances on the season. The Warriors are also 12-1 with wins over Eastern, Wayne County, Lawrence County, and Jeffersontown. Their only loss came from crosstown rival and state contender Pulaski County.
4.) Mason Blair (2017, Johnson Central) 3o.5 ppg
The University of Pikeville commit, along with Timmy Dalton, is lighting up eastern Kentucky. As a matter of fact, when the two squared off earlier in the season, Blair did his best to one-up Dalton by pouring in 50 points against Lawrence County in a win on the road.
5.) Taveion Hollingsworth (2017, Dunbar) 28.5 ppg
Prep Hoop Kentucky’s top ranked 2017 prospect and Western Kentucky signee, Hollingsworth is putting up big scoring numbers on a team that is destined to try to make it back-to-back state championships.
