1. 2019 F Blake Hinson (Deltona) – 27.7 PPG
Blake Hinson has been tremendous for the Wolves (8-5) this season in 7A. The 6’6″, 210-pound sophomore has reached double digits in every game, in fact, he has three 30 point games. His lowest output came in a loss to Spruce Creek last month when he scored 21 points. Hinson has eight offers which include FSU and Boston College.
2. 2017 G Trent Frazier (Wellington) – 26.7 PPG
The senior is solely focused on winning a state title after signing his letter of intent with Illinois back in November. After averaging just over 20 points per game a year ago, the 6’2″, 170-pounder has taken it a step further this season in 9A. Frazier has seven 30 point games, including two 34 point performances over the last three victories for the Wolverines (13-5).
3. 2018 G David Pierce (Gibbs) – 24.7 PPG
After tearing his ACL last year, Gibbs junior guard David Pierce has fully recovered and it is paying dividends so far this season. The 6’2″, 205-pounder has three 30 point games and has reached double digits for the Gladiators (11-4). In 6A, Pierce is a premier player right now.
4. 2017 G Tyler White (Durant) – 24.7 PPG
The season hasn’t started off well for the Cougars (2-7) in 8A, but Tyler White has to be happy about his performances. The 6’1″, 180-pound senior has reached double digits in all but one game and has four 30 point games over his last five. White tacked on a season-high 38 points in a loss to Plant City on Jan. 4.
5. 2017 G Marquez Cooper (Anclote) – 24.6 PPG
Marquez Cooper led the Sharks (10-5) with 21.0 PPG last season, now the senior has turned it up a notch for his group. The 6’2″, 160-pounder has scored 10 or more points in every game including five 30 point performances and six 20 point outings. Cooper is the heart and soul of this team in 6A.
6. 2018 G Caleb Johnson (Central) – 24.5 PPG
Not many players had the start to the season that Caleb Johnson put forth. In the first two games alone, the 5’11”, 165-pound junior had 70 points which included a 40-point output in a win over Crystal River. Johnson has reached double digits in every game with another 30 point game and six 20 point performances. This kid is a pure scorer for the Bears (9-7) in 6A.
7. 2017 F Trent Rolle (Miramar) – 24.2 PPG
At 6’4″, 170 lbs., Trent Rolle is someone who can make it happen at any moment. For Miramar (11-6), he’s thriving in 9A. Rolle’s season was highlighted by his 35 point game against Cypress Bay on Dec. 9 and then his 30 point performance four days later versus Pembroke Pines Charter.
8. 2017 G Drew Bethoney (Bloomingdale) – 22.8 PPG
The senior leader broke Bloomingdale’s 3-point record total in a win over Lennard last week. At 6’3″, 185 lbs., Drew Bethoney is someone who can score in bunches for the Bulls (7-6) in 8A. He opened the season with a five-point performance against Seffner Christian, but since then he hasn’t scored under 10 points with three 30 point games and five 20 point outings included.
9. 2018 G Anfernee Simons (Edgewater) – 21.8 PPG
Anfernee Simons flourished as a sophomore with 17.8 points per game and he’s yet another guy on this list who has risen up in a bigger role. The 6’3″, 170-pound Louisville commit dropped 40 points in win over University on Nov. 28. In his first game back after a month long injury, Simons shot 12-of-15 from the field to score 31 points in a victory over Lake Region. Edgewater (10-5) is holding its own in 7A with Simons leading the charge.
10. 2017 G James Harris (Golden Gate) – 21.3 PPG
5’11” senior guard James Harris is doing wonders for Golden Gate (11-6) in 7A. He has 10 or more points in every game including nine 20-point performances and two 30-point outings. In a win over Palmetto Ridge last week, Harris scored 37 points while grabbing 11 rebounds and recording five assists and three steals.
