“I am a scorer,” Cunningham said. “My strong suits include my shooting ability and dribbling skills. I am a strong passer as well. I’m a work-horse and never quit.”
Cunningham played a solid role in the Maroons’ success last season. The athlete averaged 4.4 points and 1.2 rebounds per contest and dished out a significant amount of assists. Cunningham says that he and his club have gotten off to a good start this year.
“Right now, my high school team is 2-0 and I’ve been playing great,” Cunningham stated. “I’m averaging 20 points a game. The team as a whole has been performing good so far.”
In the classroom at the high school, Cunningham says he is a hard worker.
“I’m a great student in the classroom with straight A’s and a 4.0+ GPA,” he noted. “I currently have a 25 ACT score. I take my academics very seriously.”
The scoring guard currently holds four scholarship offers from colleges in Blackburn (IL), Brescia, Transylvania and Centre. Along with those offers, he says he has visited a handful of schools and has been shown interest from multiple programs, and that more coaches should start to reach out because he is a scorer.
“I feel like I have a strong skill set including being an elite level shooter,” Cunningham added. “My work rate is very high. My academics are very strong. I feel these attributes would be highly valued and be a great asset to many college programs.”
