“My game is (being) more of a playmaker for others,” Butt said.” I can score if it’s needed, but I like to get open looks for my teammates; and my strongest thing is my passing. A weakness I have is that I need to work more on not over passing it and taking good shots when I do shoot.”
Butt says he and his Maroon’s club have gotten off to a good start to the season.
“This season is going good for me; I’m averaging close to a double-double with assists,” Butt stated. “And our team is doing good – we have a chance to make a run to get to Rupp (Arena) and we are playing well offensively right now, but our defensive rotations are not up-to-par just yet.”
In the classroom at the high school, Butt says he is a hard worker.
“In the classroom, I have a 3.5 GPA and I work my best and already have some college credit finished,” the player noted.
The versatile guard currently holds an offer from the University of the Cumberlands and says he has been shown interest from multiple programs in Samford, Wright State, Miami (Ohio), Furman, Eastern Kentucky, Western Kentucky, Northern Kentucky, Tennessee and Tennessee Tech, and that more coaches should start to reach out because he always gives his all.
“My game should catch the eyes of college coaches because I play 110% the whole time I’m out there and I look for opportunities to set things up for my teammates and I have great vision and I’m an over-average shooter but it’s not my go-to,” Butt added.
