The Palm Harbor sophomore is someone I saw a ton this summer at the AAU Showcase in Orlando with Nike South Beach back in July and at our expo in September.
At 6’5″, Bartlett is sound on both ends of the floor and uses his bright basketball IQ to make smart decisions. On Monday night in a 84-59 loss to St. Pete, he had 16 points and six assists.
The early part of the game didn’t go his way as the Green Devils frustrated Palm Harbor and Bartlett’s rhythm. He had only three points at the half and couldn’t find much open space anywhere on the court.
However, he continued to battle through adversity and that is something that bodes well for his future.
Bartlett talked about his progression from the summer to this point on.
“I had a great opportunity to play with Nike South Beach on the EYBL this past year,” Bartlett said. “Both the practices with NSB and the circuit gave me a good feel for the speed of the game and the level effort it takes to compete with the talent across the country.
“I worked hard on my game and hit the weight room this fall and that has made a big difference already in my sophomore season.”
He has drawn interest from Holy Cross, Stetson, Lipscomb, Lee McRae and FIT.
Bartlett is a spot up shooter who uses his strong handles to get an open look. His unselfishness will go a long way as he draws more interest from Division-I programs. Bartlett is highly critical of his game, personable off the court and a great communicator on it. In the 2019 class, he’s one of the most determined.
