“I describe my game as a very aggressive guard,” Franklin said. “I look to pass first and get my team involved. My defense has been aggressive and I’m learning to play without fouling so much.”
Franklin says he and his teammates have gotten off to an up-and-down start to the season.
“Our season has been up-and-down so far,” Franklin stated. “We’re getting our chemistry down to a science mentally and physically but we’re solid as they come. My season so far is going good; I’ve been putting in so much work I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been and it’s showing. I’m averaging 18 points (per game) and just came off back-to-back 24-point games with 8 assists and 7 assists.”
In the classroom at the high school, Franklin says he is a hard worker.
“In the classroom, I’m knocking it out,” the player noted. “I currently have a 3.0 (GPA), which I’m working to improve that.”
Although he hasn’t received any direct offers yet, Guthrie has been shown interest from multiple Division II and NAIA programs and says that more college coaches and programs should start to reach out because he gives his all.
“In my eyes, I have everything a coach needs,” Franklin added. “I have an effortless work ethic, I go as hard as I can, I am a leader on and off the court and I’m an unselfish team player that’s willing to do whatever it takes to help my team win.”
