And just a sophomore, he’s already taken unofficial visits to two area programs.
“I have taken an unofficial visit to Western Kentucky and Northern Kentucky so far. They’re both pretty nice schools and NKU was all pretty new, I loved the atmosphere when I was there,” said Thomas, who mentioned a Division I offer is his ultimate goal.
“I’m just focusing on developing my game so the offers will be similar to what I want, and as high as I want them to be, mid major to high-major D1.”
A sharpshooter is what Thomas has built his reputation as early in his career, and he’s working to improve his skill-set
“Shooting the basketball is definitely my strength, I feel like I have good range and I can get it off quickly,” said Thomas, who mentioned what improvements he’s trying to make.
“Creating my shot, as far as shooting off the dribble better is what I’m working on. And my in-between game needs to get better too.”
He added: “I just want to have a good breakout year, so I can feel comfortable going into my AAU season. I feel like if I have a good year then I’ll be more productive this summer, and help myself get more offers and scholarships and stuff like that.”
With his sophomore season now underway, Thomas mentioned his role with the team this season is to be a defensive menace, and knock down open shots.
“My role is mainly to play good defense and to put good ball-pressure on the opposing point guard, and then shooting the basketball and scoring too,” said Thomas.
“I feel like I’ve been playing pretty good. I’ve been shooting the ball pretty well, and I’ve been just focused on keeping my man in front of me.”
