“I have a nice first step and get to the basket easily,” Hudson said. “I finish strong around the rim, my mid-range shot is pretty good as well as my three-point shot. My team and I feel like I’m a very good defender, which I worked on over the summer. I feel like I’m a good rebounder at my position, I see the court well and if my teammates are open and cutting I get them the ball.”
Hudson says he and his teammates have gotten off to a good start so far on the season.
“This season for me has started good,” Hudson stated. “I’ve been playing well so far. The team has started off OK; it could have started off better – we’re 3-2. I’m averaging 8 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals (per game). This team has to play better defense and we will be very tough to beat.”
In the classroom at the high school, Hudson says he is a hard worker.
“All teachers and staff like me,” the player noted. “I’m a 4.0 student in all honors classes and I’m well respected by my peers.”
Although he hasn’t received any direct offers yet, Hudson says that he has been shown interest from Lincoln Memorial University and that college coaches and programs should start to reach out because he works very hard.
“My game should catch college coaches’ eyes because of how hard I compete and the sacrifices I take for my team; like taking charges and diving for loose balls,” Hudson added. “I’m a 6-1, 165-pound point guard that can score anywhere on the floor and my teammates, coaches and I think I’m a very good defender. Also I’m a great student in the classroom.
“Also, I became a lot more coachable then last year and I’ve matured a lot.”
