“I am more of an overall player than anything individually,” Coomer said. “But I can create my own shot and score the ball, also. I can score at all three levels.”
After playing a solid role in the Trojans’ success last season, where the sophomore was a starter and played alongside his brother (Wade Coomer) in one of the most historic seasons in BCHS history, Coomer has already gotten off to a good start this year.
“We won both of our scrimmages and have started the season off 2-0,” Coomer stated. “Playing very well overall defensively and offensively, but would like to just keep being consistent with it. We play good together as a team and hustle just as much as any team out there.”
In the classroom at the high-school, Coomer says he is a good student.
“I have a 3.4 GPA up to this point and tend to make A’s and B’s every year,” Coomer noted. “I scored a 19 on the ACT.”
Although he hasn’t received his first direct offer yet, Coomer says he has been shown interest from Tennessee Tech and plans to take an unofficial visit to the University on Dec. 17. The player also says more coaches and programs should start to reach out because he is an all-around athlete.
“My game should catch colleges’ eyes because I am a well-rounded player, can score at all three levels and can create my own shot and score over defenders with my height,” Coomer noted. “And I also strive to keep my GPA at 3.5.”
