“The strongest skill (I have) is shooting, but I can also drive and rebound and I am picking my defense up so I am an all-around player,” Powell said.
Powell says he and his teammates are still searching to find a rhythm so far on the season.
“It has been up-and-down for us and we are now starting to get into a good rhythm,” Powell stated. “But for me, I have had some really good games. I’m just trying to get into the rhythm and do whatever it takes to win. I have gotten a couple of Player of the Games and I made an All-Tournament Team.”
In the classroom at the high school, Powell says he is a hard worker.
“I’m a good student; I’m not sure about my GPA yet this year because the grades are not final yet, but last year I had a GPA over a 3.0,” the player noted.
Although he hasn’t received any direct offers or been shown any interest yet, Powell says that college coaches and programs should start to reach out because he gives his all.
“Because I can play (positions) 1-4,” Powell added. “I work hard , I’m a team player, I’m versatile and I’m willing to do whatever it takes to win. I am also coachable.”
