“I am a point that handles the ball pretty well and I’m fast with and without the ball,” Ragland said. “I play as a floor general, I have a three point shot – I led my team in three-point percentage last year – and when I get in the paint I can draw contact and finish tough layups. “I am also a lockdown defender that can be sneaky on the defensive end and get steals.”
Ragland says he and his Wildcats squad have been winning to begin the 2017-17 season.
“As a team, we have had a sluggish start, but we’re working hard each and everyday at practice so that won’t last long,” Ragland stated. “We are 4-0. As a player I think I have done an exceptional job – hitting high quality shots and playing great defense.”
In the classroom at the high school, Ragland says he is a hard worker.
“I am an athlete that cares much about my grades and not be just a leader on the court but also in the classroom,” the player noted. “I work very hard in class so colleges know that they won’t only get a great athlete but also an excellent student.”
Although he hasn’t received any offers or been shown any interest yet, Ragland says that college coaches and programs should start to reach out because his game sits apart from others.
“I’m a great student so colleges will be getting a great athlete and an excellent student,” he added. “My game is a type that many coaches would like because I can do just about anything. I have a consistent jump shot and take high percentage shots. I’m also a defender who can guard a teams best guard any night. I work hard for my team night in and out and make sure I am a great teammate and leader who wants his team to be successful. Basketball is something that is serious to me and I put in 100% whenever I touch the court.”
