The Cape Coral junior flashed his long range jumper against Canterbury on Wednesday night in a 61-56 road win.
At 6’6″, 190 lbs., he routinely hit tough shots in the second half. After posting only six points over the first 20 minutes, he had 11 in the final half of play to finish with 17 points and lead the Seahawks to a victory.
Markovich drew contact on attacking plays, dished out nifty assists and was a vocal leader on the defensive side of the ball.
After serving a rotational role as a sophomore, Markovich has really stepped up his game so far this season. He has the length and the basketball IQ to battle each and every night.
Markovich is a junior that doesn’t get a lot of love on a Cape Coral team that has been quiet in Class 7A the past few seasons. However, he is someone to keep a close eye on as the season progresses.
