There is a new name that folks around the state will need to get very familiar with now as he will have a chance to be very special over the next few years, and that name is Jordan McNeill. Speaking with multiple people in the area, they all had positive things to say about this young man’s talent so I had to stop in and see for myself. My first time seeing Jordan play live was this past weekend during the Robeson County Shootout Championship game, and he did not disappoint at all. He has a game and IQ that is well advanced beyond his years and plays the game with a confidence and swagger that you love to see from a youngster.
What makes him special?
First of all is his ability to play the PG and SG spot, he has solid ball handling skills to go along with a silky smooth but quick shooting stroke that allows him to get his shot off without issue. He has a natural ability to score the ball but understands most importantly how to make the right play and is a very gifted passer. Although I didn’t get his official assist stats, he had at least 5 on the night, the way he found teammates and put passes right on point was something special. As impressive as he was on offense he was just as impressive on the defensive end, it was surprising to see a guard his size being such a good shot blocker. Only time will tell but Jordan McNeill has all the tools to be a very special player as long as he continues to work, two things are clear though: He definitely is a player that will be ranked ASAP in the NC 2020 class and D1 schools should track him without a doubt.
