“It (the season) has started out a little rough, but we have a lot of inexperienced guys on the team,” Beckham said in regards to the start of the year. “I want my role this year to be showing the younger guys how to lead, how to become a solid varsity player and set good examples and work ethic for those guys.”
Beckham is committed and has signed to play at the next level, as he inked with Brescia University, a highly recognized program at the NAIA level. The player says he chose to be a Bearcat simply because he felt at home.
“What sold me (on Brescia) was the feeling of being home,” Beckham stated. “There is a very at home/family environment feel to Brescia. I love what Coach (Brian) Skortz is doing with that program. The campus is what I was looking for; small family type atmosphere with teacher/student ratio small as well.”
Relating back to this last year of high school ball, the athlete says that he wants to see growth.
“As a teammate right now, I’m hoping to see the guys grow as a team and have fun,” Beckham stated. “The more we come together, the better.”
