After transferring from Calvary, the 6’1″, 165-pounder finished with averages of 7.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 3.2 steals per game with the Hawks. Spruce Creek ended up with a 22-5 record losing to Seminole 48-45 in a Class 8A region quarterfinal.
Bieri posted six games with 10 or more points including a stellar performance in a January win over Deland where he had 15 points, 10 assists and six rebounds.
“My past season made me an all around better player because I saw what I needed to work, such as getting more athletic and quicker,” Bieri told Prep Hoops Florida. “So over summer I put in a lot of time with that and just putting up shots every day.
As for his role as a senior leader, this what he had to say.
“My role this season at Spruce Creek is to do everything; score, pass, rebound, and play defense and lead us to the state championship, but mostly scoring.”
Here’s how Bieri would break down his own game.
“High IQ, unlimited range, great vision/passer, unselfish, great teammate, coachable, leader and always looking to get better at on the ball defense.”
Bieri played AAU ball under his dad Tom Bieri with the Florida Legends for the last nine seasons. The Legends went 52-8 this summer, winning the Super Showcase AAU and the Best of Charlotte totaling six championships.
No offers or interest have come Bieri’s way. But playing 8A ball and excelling at a high level isn’t easy. Bieri has been able to do that in his short time at Spruce Creek. Expect more of the same this season as he looks to get more involved on both sides of the ball. His high-energy is evident each and every game.
