The 6’1″, 170-pound junior has serious range and can pass with the best of them. On Monday night, he scored a team-high 10 points in an 83-43 loss to Oldsmar Christian.
It wasn’t a pretty game for the Cobras, but Calleja made the most of his night with a pull-up 3-pointer off a turnover in the first half among his made shots. He brought energy for an uneven Hudson group.
With Peyton Sestak and Jared Durlak both in college, Calleja brings his 11.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.9 steals per game average into this season.
He won’t scare you with athleticism, but Calleja is a crafty basketball player with a ton of confidence. He’s a player to watch this season for Hudson.
