The 6’6″, 217-pounder transferred from Boca Ciega to Lakewood this year. In his debut with the Spartans on Thursday night, the sophomore only had five points in a 69-24 preseason loss to Tampa Catholic.
However, White fought all night defensively against top 2017 prospect Kevin Knox. White also took Knox to the rack a couple of times and showed off his power in the post. The shots weren’t falling for him and his team, but this kid is dripping with talent. He is a superb ball handler.
He can play all five positions on the court in the high school game with his size and length. Plus, it is hard to miss White, his long hair makes him a noticeable player and one that looks taller than his frame.
Currently, White has five offers from Central Florida, James Madison, Hampton, Marshall and UNC Asheville. He also has garnered interest from Florida State, Florida and Auburn.
I saw White this summer on the EYBL circuit with E1T1 United and he showed his progress then. Look for him to draw more attention in his second high school season and first at Lakewood. White is someone who is going to skyrocket his overall game very soon.
