The 2018 prospect has ridiculous length and he proved that in a limited role as a sophomore last season. Johnson averaged 2.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game off the bench for Ponte Vedra. In the fourth game of the season against Mandarin, he had a season-high 11 points, seven rebounds and six blocks.
The Sharks finished 19-11 as they fell 76-68 to Zephyrhills in the Class 5A region semifinal. Johnson had seven points, four blocks and two rebounds in three region games. His role is going to expand this season and that bodes well for him and Ponte Vedra.
Johnson stuck out often last month at the Prep Hoops Florida Top 250 Expo. He hauled in rebounds, won his matchup on defense consistently and attacked the rim. The rising junior has a very bright future. He’s a 2018 prospect who has loaded with breakout potential.
