North Carolina State came in to observe the Class of 2018 wing Fitzgerald last week. They remain a strong contender, but the list of suitors is long and growing.
“MTSU coming next Wednesday,” said Steven’s father Lee Fitzgerald. “William and Mary in last week to see Steven. Samford came to watch Steven. Today, EKU came in to watch Steven/Danny work out.”
It should be noted that Fitzgerald’s older sister attends Samford. Samantha Fitzgerald is a freshman forward for the Samford Bulldog.
Like Fitzgerald, brother Danny Butt has D1 ambitions. PrepHoopsKY featured Danny specifically last month.
The brothers glittered for Head Coach Ellis Myles’ Louisville Magic AAU program all season.
Old Dominion, Southeast Missouri, EKU, VCU, Samford, and Tennessee Tech have all offered Fitzgerald. Butt maintains a Tennessee Tech offer and Samford continues to push.
“Coach Holmes from William & Mary came on Friday to watch Steven workout,” said Fitzgerald’s mother. “And Coach (Scott) Padgett from Samford came on Saturday to visit Steven and Danny.”
Visits
According to Steven’s father, next month they are going to visit North Carolina State, Austin Peay, Florida Gulf Coast, Vanderbilt, Cincinnati, and Indiana. The Hoosiers staff will get Fitz and Family for their version of midnight madness.
He has only played half of his high school games. Imagine two more years of dominating the Bluegrass State and a final AAU season sandwiched between.
The ascendancy of Steven Fitzgerald continues.
