Collins has a high basketball IQ. He has a pure jump shot and great range out to the three-point line and is great at scoring off the ball. He has the ability to create his own shot or make the right play to get his teammates involved, showing his ability to be a reliable leader on the floor. Collins explained his game in his own words, “There are many important parts to my game, my main part is my shooting and range and along with that I can drive and finish and I can get my teammates involved and my high basketball IQ helps me a lot also.”
During the AAU season he played for the Carolina Wolves NC and averaged 21 points per game and 5 assists per game.
With no offers at this point, Collins has heavy interest from Radford University, and more interest from Lenoir Rhyne, Belmont Abbey, Lees-McRae, and USC-Aiken. When looking at schools to continue his basketball career, Collins said “When I look at how schools recruit me, I am looking at how much interest they put into me and which school I think I will fit in best.”
Collins has a strong work ethic and had this to say about this upcoming season, “For the rest of this summer, I’m going to always stay in the gym and work on my game and get in the weight room a lot. I am reclassing this year to class of 2018 and attending Caldwell Academy and my goals for my high school season this year is going to be to average around 20 points per game and 5 or 6 assists per game, along with 6 rebounds per game. Another goal for this upcoming high school season is to shoot at least 80% from the free throw line.”
