After a strong performance on the Mallard Creek High School JV team, Justin Hodges will showcase his skills at the varsity level this season as a rising sophomore. He played this summer on a talented Carolina Prep team. We will continue to watch his progression and keep up with his game. Justin talked with PrepHoopsNC this week and here is the interview.
PrepHoopsNC-What were your averages this past season? Who did you play this summer with and what were those averages?
Justin Hodges-Carolina Prep 7.0 points per game, 5.0 rebounds per game and 3.0 assists per game.
PrepHoopsNC-Who all have you heard from recently and who has offered up until now?
Justin Hodges-No offers but Winthrop, Charleston Southern, and University of Maryland-Baltimore County have expressed interest.
PrepHoopsNC-What are your goals for the summer and next season at your high school.
Justin Hodges-The summer season is all over but my goal for this high school season is to make All-Conference and make it to the playoffs. My school hasn’t been there in about 3 or 4 years.
PrepHoopsNC– What are you looking at in a school when you make a decision?
Justin Hodges-Some where close to home, a good basketball program and a good sports medicine department cause that’s what I want to major in.
PrepHoopsNC-What are the most important parts of your game and can you explain your game to me.
Justin Hodges– I would say the most important part of my game is my athleticism and my defense. I like to bring alot of energy to the game and get out and run. And I love guarding the other teams best player.
PrepHoopsNC-What are some things do you feel you need to work on?
Justin Hodges– I feel like I need to work on making my 3 ball more consistent, my left hand, and my ball handling.
