6-foot-2 Devon Dotson, a class of 2018 point guard helped lead Providence Day to a NCISAA 3-A state championship before the first live period and has been on a tear ever since. He had a stellar summer with Team Charlotte and on his own. Dotson helped lead Team Charlotte to a 11-1 record in the Under Armour Association. Dotson is ranked as the number two prospect in the class of 2018 by PrepHoopsNC.
On his own, Dotson had quite the summer as he was selected to the Under Armour Elite 24 basketball showcase in New York Aug. 20. The Elite 24 is an invite-only game for the nation’s top 24 players regardless of class.
He was one of the top performers at the NBPA Camp in Virginia and at the Under Armour All-American Camp in his hometown of Charlotte. His head coach for Team Charlotte is former NBA player and North Carolina All-American Jeff McInnis. He had this to say about his star point guard, “I think he is smart and poised beyond his years. He plays like a older player! He is a winner that gets his teammates the ball at all the right times and takes his shot when we need a big basket! Pressures the ball 94 ft and can control the game with his defense! Great kid, I love coaching him and he is very coachable and eager to learn!!.”
He now has offers from schools like Kansas, Florida State, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Memphis, Providence, USC, NC State, Florida, Clemson, Wake Forest and Georgia. Dotson recently took a unofficial visit to NC State and Wake Forest this past week and has visited many of the schools that have already offered him a scholarship.
Congratualtions to Devon Dotson on being named the 2016 PrepHoopsNC Top Summer Performer.
