The 6’4″, 160-pounder is a rising junior at Creekside. He has played the last two years for head coach Deon Johnson and the Jacksonville Tigers on the AAU circuit.
He says he is working hard on everything and looking to better his overall game.
As for what he’s improved since the beginning of the summer, he said this.
“I feel like I’ve gotten way better. I’ve been at camps and gotten a lot of training. I’m working on dribbling and ballhandling.”
Dumas says his biggest strength is his defense and rebounding.
The small forward played a bit for Creekside a season ago as the team went 24-6 on the way to the Class 7A region final.
He learned behind his older brother Delino and will take on a larger role as a junior.
The 2018 prospect has no offers yet, but he’s drawn interest from Albion College. He has a gritty attitude when he hits the court. It’s clear that he takes a defensive first approach and that helps him be in his comfort zone. I saw him score 10 points and make his presence felt on the boards in a 67-64 overtime loss to Team United (N.C.)
Dumas is going to earn the chance to better his all-around game and that’s when he’ll get noticed. College programs love players who do the dirty work and he is one of them.
