The 7’0″, 212-pound big man quickly picked up the sport averaging 10.2 points, 12.2 rebounds and 3.7 blocks in three seasons at Miami Gulliver Prep. On Tuesday, Victor along with his brother Solomon, a 6’8″ 2018 prospect announced they were transferring to Ft. Lauderdale Calvary Christian.
Uyaelunmo will stay in Class 4A alongside his brother while joining forces with 6’10” 2018 prospect Elochukwu Eze, rising senior small forward Jerald Butler and 6’10” rising eighth grader Bright Okongwu.
Last season, Uyaelunmo averaged 10.4 points, 12.2 rebounds and 4.1 blocks. He says he absolutely loves playing with his younger brother. He’s aiming to better his all-around game in his final prep season.
“I’m a great shot blocker and rebounder,” Uyaelunmo told Prep Hoops. “I am also a good post player. I’m working on extending my game. I think I got better over the course of last season.”
He plays for the 17U Florida Vipers on the UAA circuit.
“I just started playing with them this year. We play really well together.”
Currently, Uyaelunmo has 17 Division-I offers.
The list includes Georgetown, Wake Forest, Florida State, Florida, Miami, Florida International, Southern California, Memphis, Columbia, West Virginia, Georgia Tech, Rutgers, Tennessee, Pittsburgh, Illinois, Vanderbilt and Southern Methodist.
He also has interest from Connecticut and Maryland. Expect more offers here in the near future for the lengthy center. He’s still coming into his own and it is scary how good he can be from this point forward.
Along with his brother Solomon, Elochukwu Eze, Jerald Butler and Bright Okongwu, Calvary Christian has put together quite a roster for this upcoming season. It should be fun to watch down in South Florida.
Uyaelunmo ranks No. 14 in the Prep Hoops Florida 2017 rankings.
