“I feel the strong part about my game is my motor and my ability to rebound at a high rate, or my back-to-the-basket game,” Taylor said.
As of now, the player currently holds scholarship offers from two college programs: Texas Southern and Southeast Missouri State. Along with the offers, Taylor said he is receiving interest from Samford, Austin Peay, Morehead State and Northern Kentucky, and says more coaches should start to reach out because he’s a hard-worker.
“My game should catch coaches eyes because I’m a hard-worker and I’ll rebound, set screens and just help my team win even if I don’t score,” Taylor told me.
Taylor played a dominant role in the Purples’ success last season. The versatile athlete averaged 15.3 points per game, along with 11.9 rebounds per outing – both were team highs. Taylor calls last year a great season.
“I thought we had a really great season, but came up short to a great Dunbar team,” he said. “Should’ve won it all, honestly, but it’s fine.”
Taylor played for both Western Kentucky Elite AAU and WACG this summer. He said he performed well.
“I performed great with them (WKY Elite),” Taylor said. “Won three tournaments with them. WACG, I played my whole July live period with them and I played really great against top players in my class.”
In the classroom, Taylor says he is a hard-worker.
“I’m a hard worker and I make good grades, he noted. “I just get side-tracked sometimes, which can be typical.”
When I asked Taylor about what his plans were for his senior season at BGHS, this was his reply:
“District. Region. State. All in that order. Nothing else needs to be said.”
