How is your 2nd live period going? Who all have you heard from recently and who has offered up until now?
Jacolbe Cowan-My 2nd live period was exciting! I am very grateful to have the opportunity to enjoy that experience in such a competitive atmosphere! A few coaches have reached out this summer to invite me to team camps & visits, the latest being Coach Eric Martin., Asst. Basketball Coach at WVU. I plan to go on an unofficial there in early September. Though basketball is my first choice I also have a deep love for football where I play Defensive End & Tight End. I went on an unofficial visit to both Carolina and Wake Forest in the Spring, for Football. I haven’t received any offers yet but I will continue to work hard to ensure that when the time comes, I’ll be ready!
What are your goals for the summer and next season at your high school?
Jacolbe Cowan-My goals for the Summer are to condition more, train harder and continuously push myself to the limit as I prepare for high school football and basketball. I will be attending Providence Day School which means I have some BIG shoes to fill but I’m up for the challenge and it is my goal to one day be a PDS Legend. I look forward to making memories with my PDS family on the field and on the court!
What are you looking at in a school when you make that decision?
Jacolbe Cowan-Making my decision on a school would ultimately come down to where I feel most comfortable. It’s important to me that academics is highlighted just as much as athletics, as well as, the school would need to be family oriented, have a positive atmosphere and be very welcoming!
What are the most important parts of your game and can you explain your game to me?
Jacolbe Cowan
I think that the most important parts of my game are: unusually nice footwork, for my size, solid and strong post domination, being crafty with both my right & left hand, including dunking with both, my right & left hook shot, my 15 footer, attacking the basket, being active on the boards and my lockdown defense.
What are some things do you feel you need to work on?
I feel I need to work more on ball handling and expanding my backcourt game.
the future is bright for one of the Charlotte area’s most promising rising freshman. Providence Day School will add another talented price in their run at a second-straight NCISAA 3-A title.
