Continue ReadingWesley Chapel guard Sam Schneidmiller put together a very productive junior season averaging 11.8 points and a district high 6.2 assists per game. The 6’1″, 165-pounder finished as the team’s third-leading scorer while his assist average accounted for nearly half of the Wildcats’ output.
He had this to say about Wesley Chapel’s 21-8 showing last season which ended in the 5A region quarterfinal.
“This past season was a good experience for me. I learned a lot about my game and what I need to improve on from the guys and coaches. This season is going to be a challenge because we have a lot of young players, I’m definitely going to have to step up as a leader.”
How does Schneidmiller break down his own game?
“I would say the best part of my game is driving and getting to the rim. This offseason I’ve been trying to improve my outside shooting. I only made 10 three pointers last year, so I need to work at it.”
He plays AAU ball for Rob Walker and the Tampa Titans.
“It has been a challenge coming off the bench but it’s a good experience and I’m learning how to be a more mature basketball player. My teammates are like family and it’s been a blessing to be apart of this team.”
Currently, Schneidmiller has no offers, but Division-III Roger Williams University is showing interest. Schneidmiller is a crafty player who can transform his game this season as one of the main leaders for Wesley Chapel. Offers and interest will come his way from Division-II and Division-III programs as the year progresses.
