The Tritons fell victim to Jesuit this year in the 5A region final, 41-38, while putting together a 25-4 record. Myers is a versatile big man who can shoot from outside and attack at the rim. Here’s what he had to say about his sophomore campaign.
“This last season at Mariner for me was awesome. What I learned from the older guys is that you have to make the most of the time you have playing high school basketball because the clock is ticking. I am looking forward to wining a state championship and playing in the City of Palms again this year.”
How would he break down his own game?
“I’m an active defender that blocks shots and rebounds the ball well. I’m a versatile forward who can play inside and out. I am looking to get better at handling the ball.”
Myers will be playing AAU ball this summer with the Florida Vipers.
He doesn’t have an offer yet, but FGCU and Eastern Carolina are showing interest in him. As he bulks up, Myers will only get better and that is a scary sentiment. He’s a seasoned athlete who is still growing in size and as a player.
Myers ranks No. 34 in the Prep Hoops Florida 2018 rankings.
