The rising junior transferred from Lake Weir where he averaged 9.1 points, 6.0 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 2.8 steals last season. Now, he’ll join a Tigers team that advanced to the 4A region quarterfinal a season ago with a 21-9 record.
Patterson had this to say about his sophomore season and what he’s looking forward to at Dunnellon.
“Last year was an alright year. We had a lot of ups and downs but I learned playing varsity gave me a lot of experience. I think this year is going to be a better year for me.”
How would he break down his own game?
“My game is up tempo. I like to push a lot and I like to drive the ball. I’m looking to get better at my jump shot and ball handling.”
Patterson plays AAU ball for the Gainesville Thunder Struck.
“Things are going good right now. I’ve been playing with them for two years. The training has been good so far. I workout with my coach after practice just trying to get my jumps shot better and I’ll do shooting at home too.”
Deciding to join a solid program at Dunnellon will help Patterson land interest and offers as he improves his game further this season. He has no interest and offers yet but that should change very soon.
