PG Brandon Williams (Carmelite HS, CA)
We only saw Williams play one game as he was hampered by an injury, but there is a lot to like despite him not scoring a ton in that game. The lead guard pushes the tempo in transition with speed and displayed a feel for weaving in and out of defenders while finding teammates. As a scorer he showed potential as a spot up shooter with lots of arc. Tough on ball defender.
SF Darius Bazley (Finneytown HS, OH)
The 6’7” Ohio native has that long and projectable combo forward look to his game. The lefty has a silky smooth game being able to handle the ball in the half court getting inside the arc where he loves to shoot a pull up jump shot. The thin forward’s range stretches out to beyond the three point arc. Tons of potential here. Runs the floor well and contested shots with his length defensively. Needs to add significant strength before reaching the next level.
PF Kamaka Hepa (Jefferson HS, OR)
The 6’8” face up forward from the northwest put on a three point clinic in couple of the games we saw. The rising junior can really shoot the basketball both off the catch and pulling up off the bounce. Floor spacing four man that will bring interior post players out to create mismatches. Flashed the athleticism with a few nice drives including a tough baseline one he converted. Would like to see more of a post-game out of the young forward.
PG Nicolas Honor (Lake Highland HS, FL)
Honor is a thick bodied point guard that is a scorer first and foremost. Powers his way in the lane hitting a floater on occasion. Range on his shot. Volume scorer that didn’t do a lot of passing for a point guard. Would like to see the passes go up and number of shots go down.
PF Daniel Oturu (Cretin Durham, MN)
I have been a fan of Oturu in the times I have seen him play in his young career. He stood out again in St. Louis as one of the better post players. The 6’7” post has a 7’2” wingspan along with an athletic body and frame to continue to add strength. Oturu was extremely active around the hoop rebounding at a high rate and playing above the rim. Used his quickness and mobility in the paint to score with his back to the basket and get on the offensive glass. Potential as a shot blocker on the defensive end. Like the motor and intensity he plays with.
PG Foster Loyer (Clarkston HS, MI)
High IQ point guard that is tough as nails. Dives for loose balls and plays with a lot of toughness. Creates space to get his jumper off which was money throughout the event. He drilled a variety of threes and mid-range shots.
SG Wynston Tabbs (St. Mary’s Ryken HS, MD)
Thick bodied wing scorer from the DMV. Tabbs who stands at 6’1” is an undersized two guard that was a bucket getter and volume scorer. Can hit a pull up jumper on occasion, but was best attacking downhill and getting to the rim.
PF Matthew Mayer (Westlake HS, TX)
The 6’7” power forward from the Lonestar state is a stretch four man that is a big time shooter from the perimeter. Consistently knocked down on dribble mid-range jumpers as well as threes off the catch. Gets elevation off the floor with pure mechanics. Would like to see him mix in some other areas in his game.
SG Coby White (Greenfield HS, NC)
White is a long and rangy 6’3” shooting guard. Explosive off the bounce! White has blow by speed that he used all week. He accelerates with the rock in his hands and gets to the rim where he scores with athleticism. Great in the transition game. Also is a big time shooter off the catch from beyond the arc. Complete offensive scoring weapon.
PG Mike Devoe (Oakridge HS, FL)
Devoe is a left handed scoring combo guard. Really handles the ball in traffic. Plus shooter from the perimeter that knocked down threes from all over the floor.
SG Keldon Johnson (Parkview HS, VA)
Great frame for the 6’4” wing from Virginia. Johnson has broad shoulders and quality strength. The rising junior is just an average athlete, but gets the job done with his basketball IQ and craftiness. Quality scorer that operates best in the mid-range where he can knock down jumpers or attack with a couple dribbles facing up. Handled the ball some at the point.
SG Bryce Washington (Southfield Christian HS, MI)
Washington is a 6’2” wing with an impressive 6’7” wingspan. This kid is flat out wired to score! Washington is a knock down shooter on the perimeter that drilled them on a consistent basis from all over the floor. Explosive speed in transition and flashed an exciting pass every now and then.
PG Jahvon Quinerly (Hudson Catholic, NJ)
Lead guard with slick handles. Understands how to play with pace and when to score or pass. Solid scorer that can stretch the defense with perimeter shot. Quality on ball defender against opposing point guards.
