Continue ReadingWiregrass Ranch 2017 guard Devin Wilson has the ability to play any of the top three spots in the Bulls lineup. He has tremendous instincts and isn’t afraid to attack the rim early and often. Wilson’s length is evident at 6’2″, 175 lbs. and he simply has fun every time he plays.
Wilson will be part of a group of six seniors that will help lead Wiregrass Ranch. He averaged 18.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.9 steals, 2.5 assists in last season. In 2015, the Bulls had one senior in Mekhi Jarvis.
“We only had one senior [Jarvis]. He was very patient and never got down on himself. He took everything on a next play mentality when he messed up something I learned from him.”
How would he break down his own game?
“I’m a slasher. I feel like no one can stop me from going to the basket off the dribble. I finish at the basket better than a lot of guards. I’m a lock down defender and am always guarding the best player on the court. I need to get a lot more shots up this summer. My jump shot is very inconsistent and I want to have the ball on a string.”
Wilson plays AAU ball for Team Speights.
“Playing for Team Speights has helped me expand my role as a slasher and a playmaker.”
He has drawn interest from two colleges, Southern Wesleyan and Queens University of Charlotte. More schools will be looking at Wilson as he enters his final prep season.
