The 2017 6’10 F did the unthinkable and shattered a hoop with a Shaq-like slam. He didn’t know he possessed such power.
“I couldn’t believe when it happened,” Gadson said. “I did my typical two-handed back scratching dunk and all of a sudden shards of glass fell to the floor. I was in utter shock. That was a first.”
Gadson averaged eight points and nine rebounds this season for the 6A state champion Dillard.
The dunk went viral and even national outlets like USA TODAY picked it up.
Gadson surprisingly holds 0 offers. But he’s drawing interest from Kansas State, Virginia Tech, Georgia State and Louisiana Tech.
“A couple of coaches started messaging me the day after,” Gadson said. “Hopefully, some schools will pull the trigger on me.”
Gadson highlighted his strengths.
“I’m a great team player,” Gadson said. “I’m a big that can get out in transition. I rebound exceptionally well, and I’m a defensive presence.”
Gadson detailed his offseason plans.
“I’m primarily working on my back to the basket moves,” Gadson said. “ I want to improve my defense on the perimeter to become a more versatile forward at the next level.”
He’ll will be playing with the Florida Vipers on the AAU Circuit.
Gadson is a well-spoken young man who plans to become a lawyer. He has a bright future ahead on and off the court.
