The 6’7, 240-pound forward scooped up his first D1 offer last weekend from Georgia Southern. It was a rewarding experience for Workman.
“It’s been a lot of hard work to get to where I am,” Workman said. “But it feels great to only be a sophomore and grab an offer.”
He also has acquired interest from USF.
Workman is an alluring prospect. He has an elite, strong build for his age. He’s able to overpower defenders and takes up space. He also has polished post moves, nimble feet and adept finishing ability with both hands. Workman is an imposing force defensively and developing a jump shot.
He averaged 15 points and eight rebounds a game this season. Workman was certainly a significant reason why the Gryphons attained 26 wins and reached the playoffs.
He also has great lineage. His father, Haywoode Workman, was a 12-year NBA pro and current NBA referee.
We see Workman as a High Major prospect. Workman highlighted his offseason plan.
“I’m working on my ball handling and mid-range jump shot,” Workman said. “I want to be able to acquire a consistent jumper to draw out defenders and create mismatches.”
Workman explained where he sees himself at the next level.
“I want to play the 3 or the 4,” Workman said.
He loves playing for a heralded team like Each 1 Teach 1 on the AAU Circuit.
“It’s awesome to be traveling the country and getting exposure,” Workman said.
Workman presents a ton of upside and should explode onto the scene shortly.
