Only a freshman, the Somerset Canyons point guard mentioned he has yet to receive any college interest just yet, and says that all that extra stuff doesn’t really matter to him. All that matters in getting better.
“I don’t feel like I’m under the radar. I’m just working harder, and I don’t feel I’m ranked too high or too low — that stuff doesn’t really matter to me. It’s all about my mentality and just wanting to get better and succeed,” said the 6-foot point guard.
“I just want to get better, anything that comes with it I’m blessed to have. But my goal is to just get better every time I walk out on the floor.”
Last year Demeus spent his grassroots season playing with Florida Vipers, but he says this season he‘s going to run with Team MOAM.
“I was just trying to find the right fit for me, and I like the way the guys play at Team MOAM, and I thought that was my fit,” said the talented point guard.
He went on to define his playing style to PHF.
“My style of play is a pass-first kind of point guard, I love to get my teammates open shots, and to get my teammates involved,” he said.
“My role this season was to keep our guys’ confidence up, and to understand chemistry with the team. And just to try and get the guys to stay confident with themselves.”
“I was blessed to play varsity as a freshman point guard, and I was just working on staying focused and keeping my guys confident.”
As he heads into his 15U season, where his recruitment should start to spike, Demeus is focused on getting wins and getting better.
“I hope to lead my team to some wins,” he said. “And to try and make sure that not only I get better, but my teammates get better.”
