The ultra-talented freshman recently wrapped-up his first season playing with the Bulldogs’ varsity. And now shifts his focus to his important 15U offseason where he hopes to expand his short list of suitors.
“I went on a visit to South Alabama, and then North Florida has some interest in me, they’ve been emailing asking how my season has been going,” said Purcell, who has played with Showtime Hoops in the past offseasons.
“Hopefully I can get a little bit of interest from schools around here, or mainly somewhere in Alabama, maybe even an offer from a school. That’d be great.”
Purcell explained to PHF what is he’s best at on the floor, and what he’ll be working to improve this spring and summer.
“To me it’s shooting, ball-handling, and controlling the ball that are my strengths. And then crashing the boards for offensive rebounds,” said Purcell. “I need to work more on being vocal, more on my right hand, penetrating, getting past defenders, and defense.”
After finishing his freshman campaign as the starting point guard for the Bulldogs, Purcell reflected on his season.
“I feel like I played pretty good,” said Purcell. “My role was to score, come into the game, make big plays, and finish the game.”
