Still only a sophomore though, Mosley says he’s not completely set on the gridiron just yet, and he feels he may be a bit overlooked on the hardwood.
“I’d say I’m more of a football guy right now,” said the potential Division I running back.
“I’ve seen a little bit of football interest, recently I was at Florida State. But I don’t really know right now, it’s hard to pick right now.”
Coates added: “I think I’m under the radar a little bit, and yes I think I should start seeing some (basketball) recruitment, especially because last year I had a great summer.”
He’ll spend his 16U offseason playing with Showtime Hoops again, and hopes to dazzle some college recruiters in the process.
“I can really use my speed to get by defenders, and my dribbling ability. And I think my best strength is in transition, I feel like nobody can stop me in the open court. And I can shoot it a little bit too,” said Coates, Florida’s 39th-ranked 2018.
“I need to work on my passing and my decision-making right now. I’m working with my coach every day, training. And I’m seeing improvements in those areas.”
