“The schools that have been showing interest lately are Alcorn State, Stetson, Bowling Green, Trinity Valley (TX), Lees-McRae (NC), and I’ve talked to the assistant coach at Kansas State several times,” said Harper, who is intrigued by the JuCo option.
“I’m leaning towards the JuCo route, because I would like to come in and showcase my true talents as a stretch-four.”
He explained exactly how it is he plays the game as a long and versatile forward.
“At my height I’m able to stretch the floor, I’m able to guard inside and out. I shoot the ball pretty good for a big guy, and I’m almost like a guard with my passing skills. And I don’t really mind guarding guys who are quicker than me because I can use my length effectively,” said Harper.
“At the next level I see myself playing from the free throw line extended, right now I’m playing down in the paint a lot more because I’m one of the bigger guys on the team. I’m most comfortable playing anywhere from free throw line, to elbow, to wing.”
Currently 108th in Florida’s 2016 rankings, Harper is a guy who the Jaguars will rely upon to do a little bit of everything come post-season.
“They just need me to defend, and rebound the ball, block shots and defend well, usually the other team’s small forward,” said Harper.
