The 6-foot-7 sophomore has heard from two D1 schools already. Those schools now have the inside track on the talented wing.
“I’ve had phone calls with FIU, and then Bowling Green, their coach has been in contact several times,” said DeMuth.
“Hopefully I’ll get some Division I offers over the summer, and I’ll be able to play some Division I ball.”
DeMuth says his brand of play is catered more for the perimeter, and claims to be more comfortable on the wing, rather than in the post.
“For my size I’m quick, and I’m able to play out on the wing and handle the ball a little bit against bigger guys. And playing the stretch four and playing in the open court are probably my biggest strengths,” he said.
“I’m definitely more comfortable out on the perimeter, I’m not as comfortable with my back to the basket anymore.”
Last spring and summer during his 15U season DeMuth played with Florida Elite, but he’ll play with SEBA for his upcoming 16U season.
“Florida Elite fell apart so I was looking for a team, and it came down to SEBA and Team Nike. I decided SEBA because I really like the coach and the kids there, and it’s a really good team,” said DeMuth, Florida’s 36th-ranked 2018.
“I’m going to work on some explosiveness, playing above the rim a little bit more, and then finishing a lot better. I can get to the rim, but drawing the contact and finishing through it needs to improve.”
