The 6-foot-2 junior spent last summer playing with Team Nike Florida – though he says he’ll be looking for a new program next summer – and says his recruitment never really lifted off.
“All I know is what my coaches tell me, and he tells me a couple colleges are interested, but he doesn’t tell me exactly who,” said Luke. “He says it’s a couple D2, and a coupe D1 schools.”
“I’m hoping I can get a couple offers before it’s all done, this is my favorite sport, and it’s be nice to get to college for free.”
Luke went on to describe his playing style to PHF.
“I’m a slasher and I like to pass. Most of my points come from getting to the rim, but I have a good mid-range too. My 3-point shot and my ball-handling need to improve the most right now. My 3-pointer has gotten a lot better since last year, but it needs to get better,” said Luke.
“I just want to be a player that is known for helping out a team when it needs help most.”
His production has been up this year compared to last, and that’s to be expected of the upperclassmen.
“My coach mainly expects me to score, he expects me to make plays for my teammates and he expects me to be a leader on and off the court,” said Luke.
“It’s been going good so far this season, my scoring has been up a lot since last year, and assists. We’re just trying to get to state – that’s really it, that’s our main goal.”
