The junior wing is currently offer-less, though he does have plenty of Division I and Division II interest coming his way.
He’s been in contact with a number of programs from near and far, his list; Stonehill (MA), Dartmouth, Brown, Florida Gulf Coast, Southeast Missouri State, Cal Tech, and Florida College.
“I took an unofficial to Stonehill, and Southeast Missouri State and Stonehill are in contact with me the most,” said Walker, who says he thinks about his recruitment often.
“That’s the biggest thing I’m always thinking about – is school and my grades, and basketball that I have to keep working on. My biggest goal is to sign with a program before my senior season, that’s the main thing I’m working for right now is to try and get offers for college.”
A 6-foot-4 wing, Walker sites his size and strength as his best attributes on the floor. And he says improving his general guard skills is his emphasis right now,
“My man strength is using my size and power to attack the basket. And lately guys have been backing off me so I’ve really been working on my outside shot, and getting a consistent 3-point shot,” said Walker. “Shooting, handling the ball, and defense are the three things I’m working on most right now. Being able to guard smaller guards is something I’m going to have to do.”
With his junior season at Seffner Christian now well underway, Walker mentioned that simply winning ballgames is his main goal.
“Mainly my goal is to just win games really,” he said. “And some personal goals of mine are to average more than 14 points points per game, and get around seven rebounds per game.”
