Florida State offered the 6-foot point guard this summer, and Central Florida offered in late October. He’s seeing some additional; high-major D1 interest also.
“Florida is looking at me, Miami, Alabama, Tulane, and there’s a couple others, but I’m just trying to stay humble,” said Segu, who says his focus is to become a better overall person right now.
“Right now I’m just trying to play and get better, and not just become a better player, but a better person. And I’m just trying to work hard and get as many offers as possible.”
Segu – who mentioned he will be playing with Showtime Hoops again next spring and summer – described his style of play to PHF. And what it is he’s seeking to improve.
“What I do best is just creating for others, and just looking to make my teammates better,” he said.
“What I’m really looking to improve upon is just trying to get bigger, my body, so that I can absorb contact when I get to the hole. And just being able to play against bigger and stronger guards.”
With his sophomore season at Olympia now well underway, Segu says his role is to be the young team’s leader, and to set his teammates up for success.
“My sophomore season I just want to become a better leader and become more vocal, and I want to average about five assists,” said Segu. “We have a really young team, so coming in I knew it would be my responsibility to guide my team, and get my teammates open and create shots, that’s it.”
