State Title Contender: Minnehaha Academy, St. Paul Academy
Minnehaha won state in 2014, SPA was at state in 2015, both trying to get back. The Redhawks won the biggest Class AA summer event while SPA brings back Peyton and Hanson who have been leading the program into their current age. The Redhawks have some of the state’s best young talent in Suggs, Lockett, and Bickham who are all underclassmen (the first two are eighth graders). Minnehaha also has some very good upperclassmen too and are most likely the most talented team in Class AA.
Top Ten in State Right Now: Same two
Minnehaha will enter the year likely number two in the state rankings with SPA someplace in the top ten.
Potential Top Ten: None of the others
Compete with Most: Breck, Providence Academy
Breck has yet another new coach. Another one. This time it is alum Marcus Hill. They have a few holdovers but most of the talent while Providence has a chance to win a lot of games as their top guys (Richelsen and Miller) are back.
Building: Blake, Mounds Park
Jack Moe is back for Blake but little else remains and remember they beat Mounds Park last year twice.
